Workshop A: Technology Integration
September 21-22, September 11, 18, 25

The first workshop will introduce participants to basic computer and online skills. Topics will include:

Level II - Advanced Integration: Development of Teaching Lessons

Workshop B: Explore the World Wide Web
October 19-20, October 26-27, October 9, 16, 23 (also available as an online workshop)

The second workshop will introduce participants to the educational resources available on the world wide web. Topics will include:


Workshop C: Personal Productivity Suites (Office/AppleWorks)
November 2-3, November 16-17, November 13, 20, 27

The third workshop will introduce participants to personal productive software suites (Microsoft Office 98 and AppleWorks). Eight hours of the workshop will focus on Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and four hours will focus on AppleWorks (Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Draw, Paint, etc.)

Workshop D: Web Publishing (also available as an online workshop)
September 14-15, January 25-26, January 15, 22, 29

The fourth workshop will focus on Webpage Design using Netscape Composer (as well as a quick look at the Save As HTML options in Word and AppleWorks). Primary emphasis will be on how teacher and student created webpages can be integrated into the classroom (links to appropriate educational resources, student publishing, etc.) Further exploration of Educational Resources and Curriculum on the Web will be included in this workshop.

Level II - Advanced Integration: Development of Teaching Lessons
January 11-12

Workshop E: Presentation Tools ( PowerPoint / iMovie / Hyperstudio)
February 12, 19, 26, February 22-23, March 1-2

The fifth workshop will focus on Presentation Tools (PowerPoint, HyperStudio and Avid Cinema). Each application will be introduced in a four hour session.

Workshop F: Units of Practice
March 8-9, March 5, 12, 19

The final workshop in the series will focus on the development of technology enhanced lesson plans and units of practice. Participants will explore online curriculum models and will use the applications and skills introduced in the previous five workshops to develop a technology enhanced lesson plan or unit of practice.
