Content Standards : Introduction | Exploration I | II | Reflection

Curriculum Content Standards

The curriculum in your classrooms is, for the most part, developed in alignment with the curriculum content standards developed by your state department of education.

Before you begin the next section of the world wide web module, spend some time exploring the state curriculum content standards for your grade level and/or subject.

Education World's State Standards directory provides direct links to all of the 50 state departments of education sites where you will find the content standards for your state.

Note to PA Educators (2.18.10): The Education World link for the Pennsylvania Content Standards is currently not working. You can use the link below which will take you to the PA Dept. of Education Standards Aligned System web site.

Identify one or more specific curriculum content standards that will be the focal point(s) for your exploration of the educational resources on the world wide web that will follow. As you find educational resources, add them to your Favorites/Bookmarks list.

Note: This link will open in a new browser window. When you have finished exploring the site, click the browser window close button to return to this webpage.

Send me <bjost@josts.net> an e-mail message identifying the content standard(s) that you have selected. Include the words "Content Standards" in the subject of your e-mail message. You can copy and paste the text from one of the content standards sites into the body of an e-mail message or you can summarize the standard(s) which you have selected. Briefly share the reason why you selected this content.

Next, you will explore a collection of Instructional Resources (Part I) and Online Lesson Plan Sites (Part II).
