Google Sites

Google offers a free web development service that works well for creating a multiple page classroom website.

You will need to create a Google account to use the service. Google accounts are free and can be activated in a matter of minutes. Take a look at the features offered by Google Sites to see if it will meet your needs.

  1. Navigate to http://sites.google.com
  2. Click on the Create a site... link down on the left side of the screen and view the Introduction to Google Sites video.
  3. Explore the Example Templates check out the Classroom example. You could also use one of the other templates if that would better meet your needs.
  4. You can also access the Google Sites Help Center for more information:

    http://www.google.com/support/sites/

  5. If you decide that a Google Site will meet your needs, click the Sign in to Google Sites if you already have a Google Account.
  6. If you do not already have a Google Account, click the Sign up for Sites link to create one.
  7. Follow the step-by-step directions to create your Google Site.
  8. Refer to the Help files (see link above) for additional information and assistance.
  9. Add content appropriate for your classroom.
