SchoolNotes Selecting this option will allow you to create a class website using the free service offered by EducationWorld (a reputable online education service provider). Navigate to http://new.schoolnotes.com/ Click the "Showcase of Teacher SchoolNotes Pages" link to see how other educators are using the SchoolNotes service. Note: The free SchoolNotes service does not support the use of graphics. Adding graphics to your page is not required for completion of this section of the course. You do not need to feel obligated to upgrade to the subscription service. Click on the "About Us" link on the upper right side of the screen for additional information. Click on the "Register for free account" link to register and initiate your SchoolNotes account. Follow the detailed instructions on the screen that appears. Be sure to record the username and password you select for future reference. You will need that information every time you edit your SchoolNotes page. After your SchoolNotes account is activated, click on the "Edit Notes" link to modify your SchoolNotes webpage. You can find specific Help/Support files with information about editing your SchoolNotes page when you are on the SchoolNotes edit screens. If you decide to use this option, create your web page or website and customize to meet your specific needs. Be sure to include active hyperlinks to several of the age-appropriate and educationally relevant web resources that you have found while working on the second module of the course. Those clickable hyperlinks are, in my opinion, one of the primary reasons for having a classroom website. It is so much safer to have students start their online explorations with a clickable link to websites that have been previewed and selected by the teacher than to just turn them loose with a search engine or a complicated web address that has to be entered into the browser location bar.
