Exporting
Your Internet Explorer Favorites (PC)
Internet
Explorer 9 - use these steps.
- Open
Internet Explorer.
- Click
on the View Favorites (Star) button on the upper right side of
the browser. A new window will appear.
- Click
the drop-down menu arrow to the right of Add
to favorites at the top of the new window.
- Select Import
and Export from the menu.
- When
the Wizard appears, click Export to a file and then the Next
button.
- Click
on Favorites and then Next.
- Click
on the folder you wish to export. If you click on the top Favorites
folder all of your Favorites will be exported.
- Click
on Next.
- Click
on Browse.
- Navigate
to the desktop.
- Change
the default bookmark file name to your first initial followed by
your last name (example: bjost) Important
Note: Use only lower-case letters. Do not use any spaces.
- Click
on Save.
- Click
on Export when the Wizard screen reappears.
- Click
on Finish to exit the Wizard.
- A dialog
box will appear informing you that the export process was successful.
- Navigate
to the desktop and locate the file.
- Double-clicking
on the file should open Internet Explorer and display your exported
favorites on the screen. Clicking on the links should take you to
the associated webpage.
